What is waterproof BioThane® material?

BioThane® is a premium polyester webbing coated with TPU/PVC, making it exceptionally strong, flexible, and completely waterproof. It’s widely recognised as the highest quality waterproof webbing available and is trusted worldwide for pet, equestrian, and even medical applications.



Why is BioThane® better than leather or nylon?

Unlike leather, BioThane® doesn’t crack, stiffen, or absorb odours. Unlike nylon, it won’t fray, stretch, or become waterlogged. It’s stronger, longer-lasting, and much easier to clean, giving you reliable tack that stands up to daily use without the hassle of constant upkeep.

Is BioThane® safe and strong enough for horses?

Yes — BioThane® has an average breaking strength of around 500kg, making it more than strong enough for equestrian use. It remains supple in all weathers, so you can rely on it for everyday handling, turnout, training, or professional use.

How easy is it to clean?

Extremely easy! BioThane® is non-porous and completely waterproof, so mud, sweat, and stable dirt simply wipe away. For a deeper clean, it can be rinsed or disinfected without damaging the material, making it one of the most hygienic tack materials available.

Will it smell after use?
